A standard 8x8 chessboard has two opposite corners removed. Is it possible to cover the remaining board with 31 dominoes, each covering two squares?

Answer: No. Removing two opposite corners, which are of the same color, leaves 30 of one color and 32 of the other. Each domino covers one of each color, so it's impossible to cover the board.
